Death penalty

I think they there should not be a death penalty because I don’t think it’s logical that we sentence people to death just because they killed someone. It also doesn’t connect with what I believe.

WELCOME TO LES MIS

At the beginning of the book, Victor Hugo wrote  a preface and this is my translation. As along as we live in a society where there is poverty, starvation, and many more economic problems there is no heaven on earth. So as long as we have problems with humanity, we need this book’s existence to remain.

THE BIGGEST BOOK I’VE EVER READ

Image
Before I’ve seen books that are as thick as this one or even thicker and I’ve never wanted to read them because it’s too much and maybe I wouldn’t understand the story. I’m not afraid that it’s a thick book, I’m just worried that I won’t understand the events occurring in this story.

Seeds of a Revolution

The French Revolution was a time when the people decided to stand up for themselves and go against the King. But why is it that it took them some time before finally revolting against him? What caused them to finally go against him? First of all taxes was raised since the King would spend a lot of money and that lead them to corruption. The King also didn't know how to run his country. Every time he would try to do something good for his country, he would fail. The people were suffering from many things. Some would starve, some would not grow fully, and some would become more poor.

Poetics story

It was the 4th of July on a Saturday morning when Katherine had gone out for a run. She'd always go for a run no matter the whether or the mood that she was in. As she went around the block, she noticed that there was a man in a black hoodie behind her following her. She started running faster and he went chasing after her and as he was catching up, Katherine noticed something about him. Katherine suddenly stopped and told him, "I know it's you." It was Noah, Katherine's boyfriend since the eig grade. Katherine and Noah would always prank each other. At the end of each year, they would add up all the times that they'd successfully prank each other. Katherine always won. Noah asked, "How did you know?" "I knew it was you because I noticed that there was a stain on your jeans. You had gotten those jeans stained when I pranked you." Katherine replied with a smile. Every year since they were in the third grade, they would spend the 4th of J...

Literature Analysis: A Work in Progress

The book I have been reading is The Hate U Give by Angia Thomas. The plot of the story is about the life of a girl named Start and the events that occur during the protest on police brutality. This is mainly about how she deals with this because she goes to a rich school, but comes from a lower income family so she has to decide where she stands. I believe that the theme of this story is about standing up for your rights and for what you believe in because in this story Starr has to have the courage to honor her friends death and she does it by protesting. I believe that Angie Thomas wakes up at 10 in the morning and reads a bit from her favorite book. Then she goes off to make herself some breakfast and while she’s eating she either watches or reads the news. After that she goes out to see her family and catch up on what’s happened or she goes to see some of her writer friends and  discuss ideas for their new books. One literary technique that I found was allusion because Thomas r...
