How I Learn

I learn by having my things organized. For example, I have all my homework written and I start with what is priority and then I go in order from first to seventh period homework. I always to my work after I get home form tennis practice, boxing and sometimes quince practice. If I don't finish the homework, I wake up early and do the homework, but I always leave the homework that is easy to do last.

Reflection on Richard Cory

When I memorized the poem "Richard Cory" I started to think about it differently.  I thought about why he might have killed himself, and I thought about how the poem relates to my life today.  It seems like Richard Cory faked being happy and he couldn't keep up the act so he killed himself. Most of us pretend to be happy and that we have a great life. We fake a smile each day so that no one could ever really know what's going on. I also feel like Richard Cory was pictured as the perfect guy so he felt the need to always be perfect in front of others and show no weakness. Some times I feel like I am Richard Cory except for the fact that I don't want to commit suicide. Most of the time people feel like I am very smart and that I don't struggle, but I do sometimes and I don't always show it. The emotions that we don't show are what some need to see so that they don't feel alone. Maybe he felt so much pressure that he decided to kill himself so he woul

The Right to Your Opinion

I’ve heard many people say that we have the right to our opinion, but I feel like most of the time we really don’t. Sometimes we share our opinions and they are ignored, people get offended or our opinions just don’t help us in any sort of way. Our opinions might have so much meaning to us, but it doesn’t always mean that they are to everyone else. Our opinions might seem to be right or relevant, but they aren’t always.

The Socratic Method

From what I have read about the Socratic method, it is a way of questioning and giving criticism when you are in a discussion. You need to know how to make a good argument and know what questions to ask.  I believe that the Socratic method is useful as it helps students relate to the topic so the students are allowed to think in a different way. It also helps identify the truth  and what is accurate as you listen carefully to what is being said and question if what someone is saying has evidence to back it up. The Socratic Method also means that one has to be open minded to a response which I think is important because we can't go our whole lives being ignorant. It wouldn't help us grow intellectually.
